Everything gets done one step at a time

Henry Ford said, "Nothing is particularly hard if you divide it into small jobs ." This is great advice for any task that I need to do; whether it is cleaning the house, paying bills or a project for work or school. I think about one thing that I can do, focus only on that first step , then do it. Even though it was a life long goal , I felt overwhelmed when I thought of how many pages and how many words it would take to write a book . Every time I started to write, I would re-read and edit my previous chapters. I felt that I was not making much headway, but then I read another author's advice to just write it first; then later go back and add details and descriptions. This was a great suggestion since I finished the rough draft of Riding Waves four months early. It is true that everything gets done one step at a time. Is your life fact or fiction?

Then I remind myself that real people are flawed and real life has trials. I am a glass half full type of person so I genuinely love life, but it can challenge me at times. Life is real and true and facts , but fiction can be fun at times. It can be an escape for me, as...

It takes help from others to be a success

William James said, "It is our attitude at the beginning of a difficult task which, more than anything else, will affect its successful outcome."  When I decided to publish my book Fun4Babies , I was really nervous. I had many ideas and had even put together a whole marketing plan to help sell the book. I work in the Early Childhood Education field, so I felt that I had many contacts with teachers and parents of infants. When I received my first package of books , I told my Director, Katia Pannarale , who was so excited for me. My Assistant Director at the time, Sarah Torres, informed me that they wanted to purchase a few copies for in our resource center. Then when I came into work shortly after, they had set up a display with my name and a copy of my book . That gesture touched my heart. Katia has been so supportive in my publishing endeavors, telling others proudly that come to Deer Park about my book, as well as allowing me to hold a book sig...
