Returning To My Roots

Where can a writer share their words?

In 2013, I started a blog, and then decided that I would write a post every day leading up to my 50th birthday. This turned out to be more challenging than I ever imagined; however, it set the foundation for my writing to become a habit. Obviously, I want others to read my words and feel inspired, encouraged, and entertained, but it is more than that. Writing brings me joy, and fills me with so much happiness. After writing a blog on positivity for ChicagoNow from 2016 until 2022 called Looking For The Good, I am returning to my roots back here. Through my time there, I have met so many other amazing writers that I hope to keep in touch with, but it is time to move on and see where my writing is headed. In 2013, my goals were to 1. Write a fiction book (done), 2. Travel and hike (done), and 3. Get my Master’s Degree (done). Since 2013, I have grown and changed in my life and my writing. I am not exactly sure where my life is heading, but I am trying to live in the moment and enjoy all that I have achieved. I was recently reminded about how short life really is, so although I still have some dreams and goals, I am learning to balance my drive with a little rest. Why reach my dreams if I can’t take time to enjoy them?
